Toe and Trailing Arm Install
1)
Jack vehicle up and support safely with jack stands.
2)
Remove rear wheel.
3)
Simply unbolt the two 14mm toe arm bolts via standard wrench/ratchet
or use an impact gun to make quick work of the bolts. To remove
the trailing arms, one must remove the underbody aero tray that
is held on by 10mm nuts/bolts. The trailing arm has a 14mm bolt
on the suspension arm and one bolt/nut on the chassis.
4)
Once the trailing arm is removed, the Fighters trailing arm
can be installed by simply doing the reverse of removal. Adjust
the arm so that the length is correct and simply bolt in the
arm via the suspension arm and the chassis bracket. Tighten
jam nut once length is set on the trailing arm. Reinstall underbody
aero tray.
5)
To install the Fighters toe arms, compare your new arm to the
old one. Simply feed the bolt through the old arm and adjust
the new arm until the bolts slide through it as well. This method
makes sure that you are keeping your current alignment settings.
Be sure to adjust both ends of the Fighters arm equally, do
not turn only one side until the correct length is achieved.
You
can see in the picture below that the bolts go through both
arms and that each end of the Fighters arm is adjusted equally.

6)
Check the clearance of the new toe arm and the hub bracket.
If the arm just barely doesn't fit, then the spacers on the
hub have been pushed in too much over time. The picture below
will explain.

To
spread the spacers back out, one can simply use a prying tool
or a hammer and bolt. Simply feed the bolt through one side
so that it aligns with the washer on the other side. Tap the
hammer to push the bolt against the spacer and nudge them back
a hair. It really is quite simple and not much force is required.
7)
Once the toe arm fits in the hub side (complete with heim spacers),
install is simply the reverse of removal. Bolt the two ends
in via the stock bolts/nuts and tighten the jam nuts so that
the adjustment is locked.
8)
Firmly grab the toe and trailing arms and attempt to shake them
to make sure that they are tightened to spec and that no free
play is present.
9)
Reinstall wheel and tighten lug nuts to spec. Lower vehicle.
