Installing Your Fighters
Garage SRT-4 Intercooler Pipes
Step
1.
Remove your intake if it is like most on the market and hangs
directly over the stock upper pipe.
Step
2.
Remove the TIP sensor from the stock upper pipe and disconnect
the red boost line that is connected directly next to it.
Step 3.
Loosen the hose clamps on the upper pipe and remove it completely.
It is easiest to jack the car up and remove the bottom portion
of the upper pipe from underneath the car by simply pulling
backwards towards the rear of the car. Then, pull the upper
portion off of the throttle body and pull downwards.
Step
4.
Place the straight 2.25" ID silicone coupler on the intercooler.
Applying a touch of grease will help your couplers slide easier.
Pull the IC coupler just 1/2" over the bead and tighten
a hose clamp over it. Doing so will leave you the maximum amount
of coupler material for the Fighters pipe to sit inside. Push
the Fighters upper pipe into the IC coupler as far as possible
and let it hang, do not tighten the hose clamp.
Place
the hump coupler onto the throttle body as far as possible and
tighten the hose clamp. Now, rotate the Fighters pipe into the
hump coupler while it is still inside of the IC coupler. It
helps to hold the lower portion of the pipe inside the IC coupler
while you rotate it with the other hand to sit the pipe inside
the throttle body coupler. You might need to use a tiny flathead
screwdriver to push the coupler onto the pipe. You can do so
by sticking the screwdriver between the pipe and coupler and
running the screwdriver around the pipe, pushing the coupler
onto the outside of the pipe.
Make
sure that both the top and bottom of the Fighters pipe are sitting
well inside of their respective couplers and tighten the hose
clamps. Connect the TIP sensor to the wiring harness along with
placing the red boost line on the smaller fitting on the Fighters
pipe.
Your
result should look like this.

Step
5.
Get under the car and undo the hose clamps for the lower pipe.
The hose clamp for the intercooler is sometimes difficult to
reach. Using either a really short screwdriver or a really long
one seems to work best. You can stick the long screwdriver through
the hole in the plastic liner as seen below.

Step
6.
Place the coupler on the intercooler and clamp it down tight
using the long or short screwdriver from before. Place the other
coupler on the long end of the Fighters lower pipe. Position
the short end of the pipe into the IC side coupler that you
already attached. Snug the clamp on the IC coupler but do not
fully tighten it. Now, while holding the IC side in its clamp
push the other end of the pipe and its coupler onto the black
turbo outlet pipe. Position the pipe so that it sits like stock
and tighten the remaining hose clamps. It should look like the
following picture.

Step
7.
Lower car, reinstall intake, and button everything up.
Step
8.
Race people and win. :o)
